Day Walks
These range from more leisurely walks of around 5 to 9 miles to more demanding 10 to 12 miles or more which may also be in more challenging terrain. They can be anywhere within about 75 miles of Coventry (the near counties, Cotswolds, Peak District, etc.).
Unlike many groups we offer a blend of weekday and weekend walks. These are not a fixed day of the week or day of the month and may be on any day of the week. It is down to the leader of the walk to decide the best for them and agree that with the Programme Planner.

Evening Walks
Evening walks are shorter, maybe around 3 to 6 mile walks which are run midweek during the summer months or whenever daylight allows them. The main focus of these has been to provide activities for members who are working during normal hours and so they are planned to start at times convenient for those people. They do not involve long distances to travel to the start point.
They provide an ideal opportunity for everyone (including less experienced walkers) to enjoy some brisk exercise to help build up / maintain their fitness levels and enjoy the company of others.
There is very often an opportunity to carry on to a local pub for refreshments. In good weather this is probably outside.

Cycle Rides
We run day rides and multi-day tours, usually covering 20 to 45 miles a day. These rides are mostly on-road, but sometimes include easy off-road sections. The start point will be stated by the leader and may be from a meetup point which can be cycled to. If transport needs to be used then there will be sufficient space for parking cars and preparing for the ride.
The leader will say what the arrangements are for food and drink and ensure the participants are looked after during the ride.

Multi-Day Trips Away
Our walking and cycling multi-day trips away are a key element of the group. They may involve staying in youth hostels, self-catering accommodation, hotels, B&Bs, or camping. They could be to anywhere in Great Britain and occasionally abroad. These events can include more challenging mountainous walks in Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland for example, but also include areas such as the Yorkshire Dales, Norfolk, Suffolk and coastal walking, with some less demanding walks in less demanding terrain.
These events take much more effort and time to organise and this is normally done many months before the event. members will be expected to commit to their participation in the event and the predicted costs associated with it. However leaders will obviously be as flexible as they can be.

Trips can be to a wide range of locations.
A selection of walks or rides is arranged by members as standard practice for the multi-day away trips.
Accommodation can be in many forms.
Staying in the same place is convenient and provides the best social environment probably with a group meal.

Social Activities
An integral part of our programme are social and cultural activities where members can get together to share the pleasure of the event with other like minded people. This covers for example, meals out, cinema or theatre trips, visits to exhibitions, choral events, music gigs and National Trust properties. Another example is the regular support for conservation activities in Brandon Woods.
